It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Hey there! Didn’t expect me to write another blog post so soon, did you?? Well here I am! I hope your Friday is going awesome! Today I have two cards to share with you, where I used Simon Says Stamps December 2018 card kit.

I started with stamping some snowflakes on my Bristol smooth card stock with Versamark, used Recollections Snow embossing powder and then heat set it. I wanted to do a one layer card, so I stamped the image on my card panel and also stamped it on a masking paper. Fussy cut it out, placed it on top of my image on the Bristol card panel.

My night sky was inspired by Kristina Werner. You can check out her card here. I put a strip of masking tape on the bottom around 1 inch wide. I used Distress Oxide inks for the background. I started with Tumbled glass, using my blending tool to blend it softly. Next color I used was Broken China and then Chipped Sapphire and to darken the edges of the night sky a little bit, I used Black Soot. I am super satisfied with my night sky. I removed the masking tape from the bottom and put it on the opposite side so I can put some color on the bottom too, where I used Tumbled Glass to give it a soft ice look.

After all the blending is done, I removed the masking paper and colored my Santa with Copic markers. I saw a few crafters putting scribbles on the parchment which I thought was pretty cute. For the white puffy part of Santa’s hat, I used White Puffed embossing powder from Hero Arts, heat set it to give it a little texture. For the last step, stamped my sentiment with Versamark and used Ranger Black Sparkle embossing powder. Glued my panel onto my card base.

For my second card, my background is the same where I heat embossed snowflakes first but used the pole image instead. And used stitched hill die from Lawn Fawn instead of a straight masking tape. To give the snowy hill little texture, I used Ranger embossing pen and just kinda go over where I wanted the texture and used the White Puffed embossing powder again from Hero Arts. I used Avery Elle Comfort & Joy sentiment, stamped with Versamark and used WOW Cloud 9 embossing powder, heat set it and adhered it on my card base.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me! I really appreciate it! Have a great weekend, enjoy and remember, be kind to one another!
